You step up to the plate, hit a ball with a bat, and run around the bases. What are you doing? You are playing baseball. You place a ball on a tee and hit it with a club. What are you doing? You are golfing. You catch the ball, run down the field, and score a touchdown. Then you try to kick the ball through the posts to score the extra point. What are you doing? You are playing football. You hit a ball over a net with a racket. What are you doing? You are playing tennis. You roll a ball down a lane and try to knock over as many pins as possible. What are you doing? You are bowling. You skate on the ice, knocking a puck around with a stick. What are you doing? You are playing hockey. You are using needles to turn an ordinary skein of yarn into a beautiful sweater. What are you doing? You are knitting. Many individuals consider knitting to be a sport rather than a craft.
