Got Medieval Swords?May 8, 2008 on 4:05 am | In General |As a collector of (mostly) medieval swords, I have found that historical replicas make up most of the blades in my collection. I don’t really discriminate from the middle ages and the Renaissance either. Both periods are fair game when I am searching for something new to add to my wall. My favorite (and some of my first) blades were replicas of Viking swords. I liked that they had a unique look and feel. I was also fascinated by the Nordic culture, so it was natural for me to gravitate towards swords like that. I moved on to collect some long swords as well, and then a rapier. My collection continued to grow, and before I knew it, the wall in my office looked like a museum. It has now actually crept from the office along the hall and into the bedroom. I have even broadened my horizons and started collecting from different movies as well some great old cartoons (that’s right, even cartoons have sword replicas nowadays!). It is good fun and the healthiest addiction of which I can think. No Comments yet »RSS feed for comments on this post. TrackBack URI Leave a commentYou must be logged in to post a comment. |
