What exactly is the stock exchange, and how can it help you make money? There are actually many stock exchanges across the world although the most famous ones are New York and London. What a stock exchange does is provide the facilities for brokers and stock traders to do what they do. Most stock exchanges are actually companies themselves. The stock markets are affected by supply and demand and prices of stocks rise and fall as traders buy and sell to try and make a profit. Many things are traded on stock exchanges from shares issued by companies to other investment and financial products.
